How Swim and Resort Labels Show at New York Fashion Week

NYFW Shows brings swim and resort collections to a New York runway, and the way in is the same official designer registration used for Miami. Here is what the program includes, what is confirmed about the next season, and how to prepare.

Swim and resort designers who want to show at New York Fashion Week usually face the same question: which door actually leads to a New York runway? On the Miami Swim Week® calendar, the answer is NYFW Shows, the New York program powered by Miami Swim Week®, and the way in is the same official designer registration used for the Miami program. A label selects the New York show on that form, submits its collection materials, and waits for the official shows team to review them.

This guide explains what the New York program includes, what the most recent New York season looked like, what is and is not confirmed about the next one, and how a swim or resort house should prepare before applying.

What NYFW Shows is

NYFW Shows presents swimwear, resortwear, streetwear, ready-to-wear, and couture through runway presentations, retailer showrooms, receptions, and VIP experiences in New York. It extends the platform that Miami Swim Week®: The Shows runs in Miami Beach, where the official runway program is headquartered at Mondrian South Beach.

For a swim label, that mix matters. A New York season places a swim or resort collection inside a wider fashion week calendar, next to ready-to-wear and couture, and the retailer showroom format gives buyers a closer look than a runway alone allows.

What the last New York season looked like

The official NYFW Shows page keeps an SS2026 runway archive under the heading "Eight labels. One room." The eight labels listed there are Melissa Odabash, Belletage × Lanimal, Leila Denise, Clarise Celeste, Egyptian Blue, Elements by Elodie, Lemango, and Smart Swimsuits, and each one has a runway film in the archive.

For a designer weighing an application, those films are the most useful research available. They show how collections of different sizes and styles were presented in the New York room, from swim-led houses to labels that mix swim with resort pieces, which helps a brand judge how its own looks would read on that runway.

One registration covers New York and Miami

There is no separate New York form. The official designer registration asks which programs a brand is applying to, and it lists two options: NYFW SS27, and Miami Swim Week®: The Shows 2027, with dates for the Miami edition to be announced. At least one has to be selected, and a house can select both to stay in consideration for either season.

The registration itself runs four sections: brand information, primary contact, collection details, and show selection with the deck upload. The preparation checklist for the Miami Swim Week designer application covers every field in detail. For a brand aiming at New York, the steps below are the short version.

How to apply for the New York show

  1. Decide on the program. Select NYFW SS27 for New York, and add Miami Swim Week®: The Shows 2027 if the collection would suit either season.
  2. Fix the collection details: the collection name, its season, and the number of looks, entered as a figure from 1 to 100. Choose the categories that apply from Women's, Men's, Resort, Swimwear, Accessories, Kids, and Couture, and write the required inspiration statement.
  3. Write two separate biographies: a brand biography of 100 to 250 words, and a designer biography covering the person behind the label.
  4. Export the collection deck or lookbook as a PDF, PPT, or PPTX file of no more than 100 MB.
  5. Submit through the official form, confirm that the information and materials are accurate and current, and type a full legal name as the electronic signature.

Submitted material goes to the official shows team for review. A submission is a request for consideration, not a confirmed place on the runway.

What is confirmed about the next New York season

The NYFW Shows page states that New York Fashion Week Shows will return in February 2027, and that applications for the S/S 2027 New York edition are open now across casting, designers, media, and partnerships. It also says show details will be shared through official event communications as they are confirmed.

No date, venue, or designer lineup for the next New York edition has been published on the official site. Many independent platforms run their own shows during New York Fashion Week, so any date, venue, or lineup for NYFW Shows that does not come from official Miami Swim Week® pages or communications should be treated as unconfirmed.

Other ways to take part in New York

Designers are not the only participants the New York program takes applications from. The NYFW Shows page lists four routes, each with its own official form:

A brand that wants both to show a collection and to sponsor an activation is starting two separate conversations. The overview of who takes part in the resort fashion industry at Miami Swim Week explains how each role maps to its official route.

Before applying

A New York application is strongest when the collection is finished, countable, and documented. Watching the SS2026 runway films, settling the look count and categories, writing both biographies, and exporting a clean deck before opening the form turns the registration into a single sitting rather than a stalled draft.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get your clothes shown during New York Fashion Week?

For swim and resort labels, the route into NYFW Shows is the official Miami Swim Week® designer registration. Select NYFW SS27 as a program, complete the brand, contact, and collection sections, and upload a collection deck. The official shows team reviews each submission, and a submission is not a guarantee of selection.

How can designers, brands, media, or models participate?

Use the official application and credential links for designer submissions, sponsorships, media access, model casting, and backstage opportunities.
