When and where will Miami Swim Week 2022 be held?

Official Miami Swim Week was scheduled for July at SLS South Beach in Miami.

What was new with the official programming for 2022?

Fashion shows included 60 shows throughout four days of programming. The program included the Hammock trade show, a JOOR digital trade show, Project ZED metaverse fashion projects, after-parties and NFT fashion galleries, a fashion technology summit, and industry receptions and events.

What was the official hub for Miami Swim Week 2022?

New World Center hosted trade shows and events. SLS South Beach hosted fashion shows. HYDE Beach hosted after-parties. Additional receptions were to be announced.

What other shows could designers participate in?

DC Swim Week was scheduled for June 10 and 11. New York Fashion Week was scheduled for September 10 and 11. Art Basel Miami programming was scheduled for December 6 and 7.

What was planned on the blockchain technology front?

Metaverse fashion projects, AR activations during fashion and trade shows, NFT art galleries and after-parties, and technology seminars and talk series were part of the archived plan.

Why join forces with the official shows?

The platform described itself as a one-stop shop for in-person fashion shows, trade shows, virtual fashion projects, and a digital trade show. Designers were invited into a community that shared knowledge, data, and resources across projects.

What was the designer registration deadline?

Registration ran from January 1 through April 1, subject to availability. Designers could show 10 to 30 looks. Show spots were limited and confirmed on a first-come basis. Early registration offered the lowest available designer fees and access to pre-show marketing campaigns.

What were the next steps in the registration process?

Fill out the onboarding form. Schedule a call with the show director. Sign the contract if approved. Submit the deposit payment. Complete designer onboarding, show marketing, and show preparation.

How did the team communicate?

Communication was handled by email from the dcswimweek.com and miamiswimweekshows.com domains. Confirmed designers were invited to a private Telegram channel. The designer Bible and FAQ links held important updates, and designers had direct access to the show director.

What were the requirements for designer sponsorships?

Designers could find a sponsor for their show. All sponsors required Miami Swim Week approval and a communication channel between the sponsor and event team.

What was the designer onboarding process?

Each designer received a Google Drive folder for logos, high-resolution brand images, music files, and a production information sheet. A separate link was sent for creating the designer brand profile shown to the event audience.

What logo file formats were accepted?

Logo files had to be PNG or vector, transparent, and supplied at the highest possible resolution to avoid pixelation on the LED wall. Files had to be uploaded to the assigned folder rather than sent as email links.

How were images added to the asset folder?

Designers had to own the rights for third-party promotion. Images could not contain logos or text and needed to be high-resolution representations of the brand. Images were uploaded individually.

What music files were accepted?

Music had to be supplied as MP3 files and free from copyright claims to avoid livestream interruption. Licensed tracks had to be the actual download, not a preview. Designers using original or third-party tracks were advised to check YouTube for copyright claims. A 15-look show required three tracks totaling approximately seven to ten minutes.

How did designers plan special requests?

The show director scheduled a preparation call to review requests. Designers had to follow the deadline sheet and show logistics document for current information.

Could a designer ship a collection if they could not attend?

Yes. The designer was responsible for hiring a stand-in designer or stylist to prepare the collection for the runway, with a referral list available from the event team.

What was included in the designer fee?

Venue, production, PR, guest list, show insurance, models, stylists, DJ, beauty team, backstage staff, dressers, video, photos, livestream, administrative support, marketing support, event tickets, guest lists, and satellite-event hospitality were listed as included services.

What were the payment deadlines and terms?

The first deposit was due seven business days after signing. Designers could pay in full or use installments, which had to be paid within five days of each due date. All payments were due 60 days before the show, and the archived policy applied a five-percent late fee to payments received after May 14, 2022.

Were payment installments offered?

The archived plan offered four 25-percent installments due January 30, March 8, April 20, and May 14, with the option to combine payments or pay in full.

What payment methods were offered?

The preferred method was ACH bank transfer. The archived page also listed Zelle, PayPal, credit card with a processing fee, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.

How were models selected?

Models were included with the show and selected from partner agencies and casting calls. Designers could make special requests and refer models, but final decisions remained with the DCSW casting team. Final selection was confirmed during fittings two days before the show.

What was the fitting process?

Fittings were scheduled for July 12 and 13 at a location to be announced. Looks had to be separated, and hangers, racks, mood boards, and garment bags were provided. Packages were not accepted before the fitting dates, while post-fitting collection storage was available.

What was the pre-show brand marketing process?

Brand announcements were planned for April 14 across the website, social posts and stories, live interviews, and blog articles. The team also created schedule artwork, pitched designers to buyers, retailers, and media, and prepared see-now, buy-now runway commerce.

Could designers include items in gift bags?

Designers could provide 50 to 100 branded products with no marketing literature. Items had to be dropped off on fitting day.

When should designers arrive and where could they stay?

Designers were asked to arrive Monday, July 11. The archived program offered hotel partner blocks and 20-percent accommodation codes near the venue.

How were runway hair and makeup looks handled?

A hair and makeup mood board was shared three to four weeks before the show. Designers could provide feedback and request adjustments.

What events could designers attend?

The designer access pass admitted the designer and up to three team members to industry events, receptions, fashion and trade shows, opening and after-parties, and technology seminars.

Who was invited to the shows?

VIP guests, fashion-industry professionals, buyers, media, NFT ticket holders, and special invitees were included.

How did post-show asset distribution work?

Getty Images links were made available after the show. Video files could be downloaded from the livestream feed, and photos and videos were added to the designer drive within three to four weeks.

Where was important show information published?

Schedules, dates, times, livestream links, guest-list information, staff lists, and special-event invitations were added to the designer Bible. Designers were advised to review that link weekly beginning June 1, 2022.
