Traditions set by Francesc Sala Ferres in 1861, when he began exporting wine to America, would shape the industry for centuries to come. Pedro Ferrer, his son, married Dolores Sala Vivé, heiress to the Sala wine emporium herself. The union produced curiosity for Traditional Method Cava and began the journey to perfecting todays most prestigious range of sparkling Cavas, Freixenet, made in 16 and sold in over 100 countries. The name is inspired by Pedro, who’s childhood vineyard was named La Freixeneda or “Ash tree grove” and prompted his nickname ‘el Freixenet’. Five generations later, the passion remains as the need for innovation and better technology drives the products to be of the highest quality and to retain its reputation of excellence. It’s ideal for any summer celebration!
